Yoram Roschwalb

Yoram comes to YTT bringing all the tools you could ask for from a summer program director. 

Incredible enthusiasm, love for every Jewish soul, years of experience both working with teenagers and leading summer tours.  Longtime Director of Student Activities at SAR High School, Yoram planned and executed trips and  programming for thousands of high schools students over the years. He also led many Achva summer tours where he was beloved by participants for the limitless energy he put into every activity. Yoram lives in Israel with his wife and two children.

Sheri Mestel

Sheri is returning for 2025! Sheri has years of experience working with teenagers including overseeing tours for Achva. During the year, Sheri works full time as an Art Teacher at a public school in Brooklyn, NY. While on tour, Sheri's job is all encompassing. Whether it is running a staff-appreciation event, taking care of a participant's medical needs, Sheri does it all.

But most importantly, Sheri provides our campers with endless love and attention so that they can feel like they are right at home!

Rabbi Michael Hoenig

We are absolutely delighted to welcome Rabbi Michael Hoenig to our 2025 team!
With his signature enthusiasm and warmth, Rabbi Hoenig will be bringing incredible energy to YTT. During the year, he serves as Mashgiach Ruchani at TABC in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he teaches Gemara and Chumash and is also the Senior Grade Dean. We couldn’t be more excited to have him join YTT and inspire our participants and staff alike! 

Director of Technology & Social Media

Josh Lewis (aka JLew)

Returning for his 4th summer on YTT, Josh is our Director of Technology & Social Media.

Josh will make sure you get to see great pictures and video footage of your son/daughter while they are having an amazing time on YTT. He also coordinates our social media and video recaps during the summer so you can stay up to date with the tour. During the school year, Josh is the Director of Technology and a member of the student activities team for TABC in Teaneck, NJ.

Boys Head Counselor 

Michael Courtney

We are extremely excited to welcome Michael Courtney back to the team after his amazing summer with us in 2023. He took last summer off to celebrate the birth of his son, Shaya, and we’re thrilled to have him return! 

In addition to his affable personality, Michael brings years of experience and wisdom to our staff having worked in the camping industry for over 15 years. During the school year, Michael serves as the Director of College Guidance at SAR High School. On YTT, Michael’s focus will be on creating fun and meaningful programming while ensuring that we will be providing top-notch supervision! 

Girls Head Counselor 

Abby Finkelstein

Abby is back for her 4th summer on YTT!

Abby brings incredible energy and enthusiasm to the tour. During the year, Abby is a  4th grade teacher at the Stephen Gaynor school in Manhattan while pursuing a masters in literacy education at Hunter College. 

Informal education is Abby's passion and her ability to connect with our campers while also providing them with structure and organization is absolutely remarkable!

Rav Michael Goldman

We are extremely excited that Rabbi Goldman will be returning for a second summer as YTT Rabbi and Director of Chinuch! Rav Michael is a beloved 9th and 10th Grade Rebbe and Religious Guidance Counselor at SAR High School, We can’t wait for our campers to once again be inspired by Rav Michael's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to their growth and connection to Torah.

IYH, Rav Blustein and his wife Leora will be giving birth in August! We wish them a בשעה טובה ומוצלחת and we look forward to Rav Blustein's return in 2026, BH!
